Sandstorm Trek is a unique pair of beetle boots. It has some nice mods, but it can be a bit of a disappointment for Diablo 2 players, except perhaps for Assassins who use martial arts and kicks to deal with their enemies.

(Continuation of Part A)

+ 10-15 to Vitality (varies)

This acts as a small boost to your character’s hit points, with the benefit of helping melee characters more as they get more hit points per point in Vitality. However, more hit points is good for any class, any build.

50% slower stamina drain

A good idea, but as stated above, at level 64, you really shouldn’t have a problem with stamina.

Poison Resistance + 40-70% (varies)

The increase in Poison Resistance varies considerably, but if you’re lucky enough to land a perfect pair of Sandstorm Walks, you’ll get 70% Poison Resistance, which would be a very respectable amount.

Repairs 1 durability every 20 seconds

The only ones who would find this mod useful are the aforementioned Assassins who use martial arts and kicks to take out their enemies. Since ethereal weapons have a significant boost to their stats, an Ethereal Sandstorm Trek would grant higher kick damage for Kicker Assassins. Normally, there is no way to repair an ethereal item, so its durability will deteriorate as you use the item more and more, to the point where it drops to zero, and you have to throw the item away because it is now useless. With this mod, an Assassin can equip an Ethereal Sandstorm Trek for better kick damage and yet still be able to repair it via this self-healing mod.

Summary:

Most players find Sandstorm Trek disappointing. While it provides a nice boost to poison resistance, poison is actually one of the least powerful sources of damage in the game, and there are other much better boots in the game. The only player who could think of Sandstorm Trek as a viable option for boots is Martial Arts Assassin, due to the high levels of damage from Sandstorm’s kicks.
