There is a saying: “Once a surfer, always a surfer!” Is there a definition of surfer? Are you a surfer? Would you like to become one?

Not all surfers have long blonde hair like in the movie Gidget. Surfers are from all walks of life. You can’t tell a surfer by looking at him or her, but you sure can tell by talking to them. They are tall, short, young, old, skinny, fat, high school dropouts, PhDs, girls, boys, black, brown, Asian, European, Brazilian, Australian, you name it and that’s what they are, Surfers!

What do surfers want most? Of course, it is not a car, a truck, a fancy house or fancy clothes. They want to surf and they want a type of surfboard to surf on because that’s where they thrive. That’s where they are at home and comfortable, in the water with waves and the perfect type of surfboard for the waves. Surfers are at their happiest, paddling out to catch a wave, standing on their surfboard, shooting through the wave, making cuts, feeling the exhilaration and freedom of speed and the salt spray spewing from their surfboard.

Surfers don’t seek fame or fortune, although many of them do have those things. Its engine is the search for good waves. When you have good waves, you are rich; How simple, but how true.

Surfers learn to turn good waves into good vibes in life. This applies to school-age children, working adults, retired baby boomers, and anyone who takes to the water on their surfboard, bodyboard, skimboard, SUP, or any other surf vehicle.

We are all navigating through life, but the majority of the population does not know or realize this. We should all bring surf vibes to everything we do. When you’re surfing through life, you’re surfing good vibes, like you’re on a wonderful, fast-moving wall of water called a wave. You feel the spirit of the wave or the vibration of it. This spirit permeates everything you do, whether it’s driving down the highway, dealing with a certain situation, or working in your office. You develop freedom from stress and conflict. You turn everyday things into fun and excitement.

If you learn to bring the ecstasy of surfing into your relationships, they become fun and special. Whether it is with your girlfriend, boyfriend, children or wife, things become nice and calm.

I think everyone wants happiness in their lives. One of the best ways is through surfing. Surfing brings happiness to the lives of millions of people around the world. Riding waves, hanging out on the beach with your friends, talking to them about your last surf session and bringing these feelings into your everyday life is what the surf lifestyle is all about.

Wouldn’t it be nice if you never had to put on a suit and tie again and could go to work in your Hawaiian shirt? Wouldn’t it be great if you never had to wear shoes and could wear your flip flops, sandals, or thongs every day? Well, this is what a lot of people do. They have taken the “surf culture” and lifestyle and put it into their daily lives.

Surfers often drive a truck, van, or vehicle with surfboard racks on top. Most of the time, they will have their special surfboard with them so that when they have a break they can hit the beach, lake, or body of water to do what they enjoy the most. They have their towel and beach equipment in their vehicle. Can you imagine living like this? Do you think stress levels will be lower if you apply these attitudes and principles?

Many surfers also carry a small musical instrument called a ukulele with them. This is an instrument that is easy to play and almost anyone can learn to play it in a very short period of time. There’s nothing like sitting in your living room or on the beach, either alone or with your friends, playing your uke and singing songs. This is part of the surf lifestyle. What joy!

So my friends, you can see that living the surf lifestyle is a way to change your life and a way to bring happiness to every part of your life. Have to! Surf Life forever!
