2) The process to become a state trooper is arduous and complicated, as it should be. This shouldn’t present a problem as long as you’re willing to get over it. You will have to go through extensive background checks, reference checks, psychological interviews and tests, fingerprinting, and some applicants may take lie detector tests.
All this in addition to meeting the physical requirements and also passing the academy tests, including the tests at the shooting range. From the moment you apply, it will take several months before you actually land the job.
Academy training is tough and you have to be performing at the highest level in all areas to pass. Boot camp can be tough, but some candidates find this training to be just as intense, and maybe even a little more difficult.
3) Being a state trooper is a mentally challenging and emotionally demanding job and you must be prepared to deal with stress. For many people, stress is a difficult thing to put behind them at the end of the day.
