Will Robie is an assassin for the United States government, which is the best they have. Always follow orders and kill. Also Jessica Reel, she is the only murderer they have and she is the best, maybe better than Robie, but she has turned rebellious and has killed her handler. Robie is brought in to kill Reel before she mentions the body count and she’s on the move with a list of her own. Reel knows that Robie will surely be brought in to get to her, dead or alive, and thus she leaves him with precious clues.
Robie is seriously injured while trying to focus on Reel, but later, in an unexpected turn of events, Reel ends up saving Robie’s life from unknown attackers, who want to destroy anyone who stands in the way of his mission. Will Robie sees Reel, but can’t catch her. As Robie investigates Reel, she gets a glimpse of Reel’s life and where it actually came from. and then comes the twist in the story and the two killers come face to face. Does Robie arrest Reel or kill her on the spot, as ordered? Can he find the truth behind the murders? Can he discover the reason why Reel broke up and participated in this slaughter? Who is the ultimate villain, is it Reel or someone else, who is he trying to expose?
A book you can’t stop reading, with the suspense slowly unraveling and keeping you intrigued as best as possible. Two of the best assassins against each other, both trying to stay one step ahead of the other while both are on a clock trying to avoid a greater catastrophe. Who will surpass the other? The narration is flawless and provides a very detailed visual of the story. In fact, you can visualize the story as if you were watching a movie and everything unfolds right in front of you. You must read this author’s thriller for the way it has been conceived and carried out. Not once can you guess the actual plot twist and when the hit will occur. Big thumbs up for this one!
