  • 1 bottle (12 oz) beer or root beer, at room temperature

  • 6 pieces chicken thighs

  • 2 potatoes

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1/2 cup butter, melted then cooled

  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar

  • 1 tablespoon chili powder

  • 2 teaspoons salt, plus more to taste

  • Lime wedges, for wedges

  • olive oil, for drizzling

Combine beer, garlic, butter, brown sugar, chili powder, and salt in a large resealable plastic bag. Shake to combine the ingredients well. Add drumsticks to bag, shake to coat with mixture, and seal. Set aside to marinate.

Microwave potatoes on high for 5 minutes or until slightly soft. When ready, cut into 1/4-inch-thick pieces lengthwise. Drizzle both sides of each potato slice with olive oil.
