Contrary to what people believe, you don’t have to run or jog to lose belly fat. In fact, there are no hard and fast rules for losing fat around the waist. There are many ab machines and devices out there, but your ab muscles don’t know if you’re using ab equipment (thousands of dollars worth) or not. Therefore, expensive ab machines do not guarantee ripped abs in 3 days.

If you feel like your usual ab workouts are boring, you should try new activities to keep your ab workouts progressing. Any exercise you like will work. Get creative when getting off the couch. You can even dance around the living room or take your dog for a walk in the park.

Your body adapts to what you do. If you sit all the time, your body expects you to be sedentary. By the time you start doing something, your body will get used to the movement. He was meant to move, not sit at a desk or in his car all day.

Start your training and gradually progress. Teach your body how much more fun it is to move than to sit still. Exercise has been shown to greatly reduce the symptoms of depression and make you feel better about yourself. When you exercise, your body’s circulation increases and you are also more creative.

To be more mindful and productive, turn work into play. Take a bike ride, rollerblade, or hit a tennis ball against the wall. If you prefer to exercise with people, choose sports like basketball or volleyball, as they involve teamwork. If you love running or swimming (but don’t want to) because you’re not efficient, you should do it more because your body burns more fat when you’re not efficient. All those extra calories you burn while spreading your elbows and splashing around remove the fat that surrounds your mighty abs without you even realizing it.

A balanced abdominal workout works. Start with baby steps. If it doesn’t feel good, don’t do it. Just don’t try to do too much too soon. Magazines and commercials try to force you to work in a certain rhythm or manner. If you look beyond the “buy today” ad, you’ll see that there’s no quick fix for sexy, ripped abs. Instant results don’t happen. It is better to lose one inch a week than to lose three inches a week and gain ten inches back in a month. Ultimately, you should seek progress, not perfection.
