She was born and raised as a Muslim 53 years ago. His name was Lateefah E. Musah. She later converted to Christianity and was baptized Letitia when she was 27 years old. She is now known as Letitia E. Musah. During his time in high school, he fell in and out of love several times a year. She never dated a man for more than six months. She says that she was the most beautiful girl in her school and that she had a knack for getting into unhinged relationships and she never slept with any man unless she was convinced that the man really loved her. She would date a man for a month or two and then leave him. This was particularly the case if a man insisted during the initial period of their relationship on slipping between the sheets with her.

Her first meeting with a married man was with the high school principal named Abudu. Although he was married, Abudu was in love with all the pretty women he knew. She was 17 and he was 44 with a granite face and a small square body hardened by deadly exercise. He had three children and knew how to behave in any company and in any situation. On the other hand, she was young, single, and naive. He looked younger than his age and was handsome. His will was to give long speeches that were often filled with obscure quotes. Lateefah considered him a messianic leader who showed his students the way to a better life. She would go to Abudu to seek advice on everything, including how to deal with boys who often bullied her because she did not go out with them. Little did she realize that she was being dragged into a web. Abudu took advantage of this attractive and naive young woman. He promised to make her fall in love with him, and sadly he did. Abudu was a womanizer and applied his skill to the minutiae of his trade. It all started when Lateefah had a hard time adjusting to the new environment at boarding school.

Although he was the principal of the school, he also taught French, a subject Lateefah hated the most. And although French was a compulsory subject, he had failed all the French exams. Abudu made matters worse by ensuring that he would not pass any of his French exams. Being the only French teacher at his school, he made the decisions. Grandpa became concerned about Lateefah’s bad record in French and hired a private tutor. It did not work. Despite grandfather’s efforts to help her pass her French exams, she kept slipping on Abudu banana peels, which frustrated all her efforts. Sometimes, everything went well during the written exam until the oral part, which was always his nemesis. Since he considered Abudu a messianic figure, he never suspected that he was the true cause of his problems.

It was a hot afternoon during the dry season when Lateefah suffered a severe headache after participating in a volleyball competition, when Abudu finally had the golden opportunity to make her sit in his rickety 25-year-old sedan. The rest was history.
