Build muscle faster by training less often:

It seems that in most areas of life, the more effort or training you put into something, the better or more results you will get. In most areas of life this is true, but not in this special field.

If you want to get smarter or get good grades study more, if you want to be a better basketball player constantly work on your game. Makes sense, right?

You would rationally think that if you spend more time in the gym lifting weights and working out, you will gain huge muscles, right?

It really seems counterintuitive, but the correct answer to this question is a resounding no! Unfortunately, most of the bodybuilding world does not seem to understand this principle.

I bet now you’re wondering,

Can I really build muscle faster by spending less time working out in the gym?

If you really understand how the body works and how it repairs itself, the answer to this question is a resounding YES.

Our human body is completely designed. All of the trillions of cells within the body are designed to function exactly as they should to maintain a high level of health and homeostasis.

Think about it. When your body is tired you feel sleepy, when you are sick you want to rest, when you cut yourself you get a scab and so on.

So what happens to our body when we break down muscle fibers when we’re in the gym doing everything we can to build muscle?

If you answered that you build muscle, then you are absolutely right about that!

The key is to make your body feel like your muscular and skeletal system has been threatened or compromised in some way. The human body is so smart, what does it do to respond? Respond to this threat by building muscle tissue faster. This is called hypertrophy. The most ideal way to build muscle faster is to keep your muscles thinking that they should generally be in a shock and repair condition. You do this by muscle confusion and adding weight or reps to our training routines each week.

You don’t think that’s pretty simple, do you?

It’s easy to understand, but the only golden nugget you misunderstand is that in order to build muscle faster, you need to give your muscles time to rest. R and R time is when you are really building muscle. This does not happen in the gym. Make sure you sleep too. Because cosmic energy condenses during the night, this is the time when the muscles do most of the correcting and rebuilding.

You will build muscle faster if you push your muscles beyond their normal capacity. Once you’re past your comfort point, you’ve done your job. Just remember that the more you go past your maximum, the longer it will take you to recover and rebuild. Remember that your goal here is to build muscle faster. So take care of yourself and don’t forget to rest.

I see a lot of people in the gym doing too many sets or too many reps of what is good for them. Doing these things will prevent you from building muscle quickly. Doing high-power training takes a more serious toll on your body than you’re probably led to believe. And it actually prevents you from achieving your goals.

Use these 3 key ideas to build muscle faster:

1) Do not train more than 3 days a week.

2) Keep your gym workouts under sixty minutes each.

3) Do 5-7 sets for larger muscle groups like chest, back and upper legs, and 2-4 sets for smaller muscles like shoulders, biceps, triceps , calves and abs.

One last note: make sure you push your sets to your absolute concentric muscle failure and add more weight and reps each week. If you’re doing it right, you’ll gain muscle faster and see results. The last thing you want to do right now is add more exercises each week.

Doing this can only impede your training gains. So rest really is the key to building muscle faster.
