Sarcasm. You know what it is, right? Let me give you an example. Your friend comes running up to you with a new idea and he is full of enthusiasm. After he gives you the whole scenario, say something like “and what world will it work in?” Head down, your friend walks away. So what have you achieved?

1) you hurt (and possibly lost) a friend
2) You made yourself look like an idiot
3) You showed fear

‘Fear?’ you say “what are you talking about?”

Sarcasm is a form of fear. You are afraid that your friend will have a good idea, so you shoot him down. After all, if you didn’t come up with it, why should anyone else? Let me give you an example.

You’re walking down the street and you see a man holding a sign that says “will work for food”, and you say something like “Hey, get a job, bum!” Why did you say that? You do not know the circumstances of man. he could be sick or jobless, or a hundred other not-so-nice things. The last thing he needs is for you to make fun of him. Why did you do that? Why are you afraid of becoming like him? You could have reached into your pocket and given him some (no, not fluff) or given an understanding nod. But you think not. And that didn’t help either of them.

The Law of Attraction clearly tells us that the thoughts and emotions we emit come back to us. So what do you want back to you? Fear, jealousy, hate? Or would you prefer compassion, love and friendship?

Think about this the next time you are tempted to open your mouth and say the wrong thing. Sarcasm belongs on the comedy stage but not in real life. So put it on the shelf and leave it there forever.
