The story begins with a mysterious black hedgehog robbing a bank. After Sonic managed to escape the confines of the security chopper, he jumps out onto the city streets. Suddenly, the mysterious black hedgehog appears before Sonic and takes the Chaos Emerald from his hand. Shortly after Eggman makes his desire for world domination public to the world, strange incidents begin to occur. For fans who have just started following Sonic on his adventures, you should know that Eggman is actually Dr. Robotnik. Sonic gives Dr. Robotnik the nickname “Eggman” because he is shaped like an egg. When Sonic understands the relationship between Shadow and Dr. Eggman, he begins his adventures to prevent the evil plan from being fulfilled.
In this particular release, Blue Blur joins Tails and Knuckles. When Eggman was on his search for the top secret weapon, he broke into the security of the military base. Later, he found out that the top secret weapon is actually a black hedgehog that claims to be the ultimate life form. The black hedgehog is known as Sombra. Just as Eggman and Shadow begin to execute their evil plan, a bat named Rouge offers her help. Thus, he begins his plan to conquer the world.
To win this sonic game, Blue Blur must catch up with Shadow so that Dr. Eggman’s plan of destruction cannot be fulfilled. The characters in Sonic Adventure 2 are Sonic, Shadow, Miles “Tails” Prower, Dr. Robotnik, Knuckles, and Rouge.
There are a number of items found in Sonic Adventure 2 including high speed shoes, invincibility, ring box, shield, a magnetic shield, extra life and health. High speed shoes increase your character’s speed for 30 seconds. The Invincibility item makes your character invisible so that the enemy cannot see it. It also prevents the character from being hit. With this item, you can neither lose his rings nor die. The Ring Box comes in a set of 5 rings, 10 rings and 20 rings. If you have already collected 80 rings, the ring box will help you get 1-up.
The shield is an ordinary shield like StH2. If you get hit, the shield will lose its power on you, but you won’t lose your rings. The magnetic shield works like the Thunder Shield. The Thunder Shield can be used to collect nearby rings. Extra Life is shaped like a head and will give your life another 1-up. Health has the ability to restore the character’s health to 100%. All in all, this is one of the most exciting Sonic the Hedgehog games ever made.
